I am so excited to share Christin and Justin’s beautiful wedding today!
Christin and Justin were married on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Loyola University and celebrated at FoxFire Farm in Jarrettsville, Maryland.
Like so many couples this year, Christin and Justin’s original July wedding date was postponed. But, thankfully, they were able to celebrate with family and friends just two months later with an awesome September wedding! What would have been a 98 degree day was instead an amazing 76 degrees, and Christin and Justin got to have not one but two ceremonies. It was perfect in every way, and these two were so flexible and easy-going with the many changes this year.
Christin, Justin, and I got to explore FoxFire Farm for their engagement session last fall – and it was an INCREDIBLE engagement session! It was so fun to be back at FoxFire for their wedding day. FoxFire is a stunning private residence that is available for a small number of weddings annually. It was the perfect spot for Christin, Justin, and their families and friends to celebrate not just on the 18th, but all weekend long.
Christin and Justin started the day getting ready at separate locations on the property; Christin and her bridal party and friends were at the main house, and Justin and his groomsmen were past the stables at the Chapel cottage. It was so celebratory and there was so much excitement in the air! And, soon, it was time for Christin and Justin’s private Loyola University ceremony at the campus chapel! Christin graduated from Loyola, so it was really special to be able to be married in the beautiful chapel on campus.
During their ceremony, the priest passed out booklets with photos of Christin and Justin. It was so sweet that their family each got a copy of Christin and Justin’s story, and it was really cool to see a tradition that Christin was part of as a student continue. It was a beautiful ceremony, and after, as they left the church, Christin and Justin celebrated down the aisle. After some quick pictures outside of the chapel, we headed back to FoxFire Farm for portraits – with the horses! These were AMAZING and so much fun! The horses – Oliver and Ben – were so curious about Christin and Justin (and Christin’s bouquet!) and they loved watching (and posing for) the pictures :)
Because of indoor gathering restrictions, Christin and Justin got to have a second ceremony outdoors at FoxFire. It was so wonderful to see their family and friends gathered, and it was also really cool that they had a second different ceremony – this time with beautiful rolling hills and equestrian pastures as a backdrop!
And then it was time to CELEBRATE!
After the cocktail hour, Christin and Justin shared a special private dance in their tented reception space with live music from their band, Millennium, and then, after guests joined, it was time for the party! Christin’s brothers and Justin’s sister gave speeches and then Christin’s dad gave such a sweet speech (and shared the story of how Christin coerced her parents to get a dog when she turned 18! So cute!). Christin and Justin are two of the sweetest people, and it was really fun to hear about their experiences over the years. These two both have such big hearts, and they are both so giving and generous in so many ways. They love helping others and they both live with kindness first. And Christin and Justin are clearly SO loved. The outpouring of love for these two was so evident!
Christin’s dad said he was so happy that Justin was the man Christin was marrying, and he even presented them with a special bottle of wine from a family trip to Italy many years ago.
And seeing Christin and Justin together all day was really special. They are so kind to one another and they were so good at reading each other. They exchanged sweet smiles all day, and it was so clear that these two are so, so happy to be married to each other. It is pretty amazing to be part of a celebration like theirs!
After speeches, we headed outside to catch the sunset. FoxFire Farm has an amazing view of the sunset over the rolling hills, and we had the most perfect sunny evening for Christin and Justin’s most perfect day. The pictures at sunset were stunning!
FoxFire Farm truly could not have been a more beautiful venue during the daytime, and as the sun set, it transformed into an enchanted garden with magical lights above the patio. I overheard so many guests (and the catering staff) talking about how this was one of the most beautiful places they had ever been. Kelsey and I said the same thing. It is just so, so pretty, with beautiful landscaping, an amazing view, elegant patios, hidden paths, a pool, and horses! It was like a dream come true!
After sunset photos, the party really kicked off, and it started with a surprise dance! Christin and Justin performed an amazing dance (complete with lifts!) to Soulful Strut from The Parent Trap! It was AMAZING! Millennium Band kept the party going late into the night with awesome music and confetti canons! The music was fantastic – this group is so much fun! It was also so wonderful working with Christin and Justin’s fun wedding planners, Anna and Jordan of The Other Side Creatives, their videographer, Ryan Mitchell of Perfect FORM, the two Loyola University priests that officiated their wedding, their catering team Zeiffert and Gold, and their spectacular venue – FoxFire Farm.
Christin and Justin’s wedding day was so perfect. Christin and Justin were so relaxed and easy-going throughout the entire wedding day (and throughout the entire process of planning their wedding!). Christin is amazingly organized and super punctual, and along with her planners, she made sure things went so smoothly. And – most importantly – Christin and Justin made sure to have lots of fun on their wedding day, too. They spent time with their guests and with each other, and after the party ended, they continued the celebration the very next day with a pool party and cookout at FoxFire Farm!
Christin and Justin’s day was so special for me not just because I adore these two, but because I feel like I’ve know Christin and Justin as well as Justin’s family for ages! I photographed Justin’s sister, Julie’s wedding to her husband, Brian, in 2015 after I was introduced to them by my 2014 couple, Ashley and Tom. After Julie’s wedding, I photographed the wedding of Julie’s maid of honor, Zarena, to her husband, Elrid in 2016, and then in 2018, I photographed Julie’s neighbor – and longtime friend – Mandy’s wedding to her husband Tommy. I have LOVED celebrating with this amazing group and I feel so honored and thankful to be part of their special days. It was SO fun to see Julie, Brian, Zarena, Elrid, Mandy, and Tommy – and so many of their parents, too! – at Christin and Justin’s wedding!! I am so thankful for all of these friendships and to have them in my life. Thank you all for sharing your celebrations with me and Kelsey! It means SO much to me! And I have loved getting to know Christin and Justin during the planning period, their engagement session, and now their wedding day. It has been so much fun!
Christin and Justin, Kelsey and I absolutely adore you two. You are two of the kindest people, and I am so, so happy that you two are married, and I am so excited for what it ahead of you both in life as a new amazing team. We feel so fortunate to know you both, and we loved celebrating with you. Your wedding couldn’t have been better! Congratulations, Christin and Justin!! Enjoy all of the wonderful things ahead!!
