Gina and Matt got married in October at the most special venue: Gina’s family home! Gina’s family lives on a multi-hundred acre farm in Sykesville, Maryland, on land that has been in their family for many years. And Gina’s family’s home is INCREDIBLE – this was an incredible venue! Matt started the day by visiting a bar just down the road with his groomsmen and the dads while Gina got ready at home with her bridal party. The bar that Matt spent the morning at was the same bar that Gina’s dad went to on his wedding day too!
I really wanted to have my wedding at home; unfortunately, my parents were not on board with converting their yard into a venue – there is a lot work involved! But Gina’s family was so excited to open their home up to family and friends for Gina and Matt’s special day. And it was absolutely beautiful!
Unfortunately, the weather had other plans; Hurricane Matthew hit the East Coast the weekend of Gina and Matt’s wedding, bringing days of rain. Although the morning was very rainy, as soon as Gina and Matt’s ceremony ended, the rain stopped! The rest of the day it alternated between no rain and a light mist, so we were incredibly lucky because we were able to do so many beautiful outdoor portraits! On top of that, Gina’s home has a huge, gorgeous covered porch, which made for a perfect covered spot for pictures!
And the rain didn’t stop anyone from having fun – just wait until you see this reception!! This was such a fun, wild reception! Seriously – you have to see this one! Everyone had such a great time – and because Gina and Matt’s wedding was at home, everyone was able to party late into the night. But Gina and Matt’s family and friends were not the only ones who had a great time at their wedding – their cute dogs, Axel and Bailey, had a blast! These two walked down the aisle as ring bearers, posed for lots of photos with Gina and Matt, and got to run around the yard and visit guests for a bit during the reception J I love when couples include their pets in their wedding (Justin and I had all three of our dogs at our wedding too!), so I was so thrilled to meet and photograph Axel and Bailey!
Gina and Matt, you two are such a sweet couple, and it has been so wonderful getting to know you both this past year and celebrating your best day ever with you!! Congratulations, Gina and Matt!!!

Gina and Matt’s wedding ceremony was going to be in the yard, but even though we were under the tent, it looked like the outdoors with all of the beautiful plants!
