Lara + Kevin, a Washington DC Cherry Blossom Engagement Session

I am so excited to share some favorites from Lara and Kevin’s STUNNING Washington DC engagement session during the beautiful cherry blossom festival! Lara and Kevin met after college, and these two have been together ever since.

Kevin may win the award for most incredible proposal: he proposed to Lara in Paris, France beneath the Eiffel Tower!! These two love to travel and explore the world together, and last year, during a European trip, Kevin asked Lara to be his wife with the most stunning ring. Now, these two are planning their wedding for later this year, and I can’t wait to celebrate with them!!

Lara and Kevin live in DC, so using the nation’s capital as a backdrop for their engagement session was perfect. These two also wanted to celebrate their engagement with the beautiful and iconic cherry blossoms that surround the Tidal Basin in Washington DC, and we got SO lucky with our timing! The cherry blossom peak moved up by about one week, so we switched our planned session to one week earlier and headed to the city on a weekday morning to avoid the crowds. It ended up being an absolutely perfect morning with the most gorgeous, golden light and tree after tree filled with beautiful soft cherry blossoms. We got SO lucky; it seems like we had the most perfect spots for pictures, minimal crowds, and, on top of the fantastic setting, these two were so, so fun to work with! Lara and Kevin are absolutely adorable and so sweet; it is easy to see why they are a perfect match. They also have a great sense of humor; they kept my husband, Justin, and I laughing through their entire session! They are such a sweet couple, and it was so fun hearing about their trips, their adorable rescue cat, and their wedding plans!
