Lauren and Dan celebrated their marriage at the beautiful Liberty Mountain Resort in October. These two are so sweet – and they were so excited for their wedding day! Lauren is a nurse, so she is already incredibly busy, but she did so many adorable DIY projects in preparation for the wedding – including the adorable centerpieces! I got to follow along with Lauren’s DIY projects on snapchat (and to see photos of Lauren and Dan’s two adorable cats!), so it was so incredible to see everything come together so beautifully on their big day!
On Lauren and Dan’s wedding, the forecast was calling for rain – and the day started out rainy. I was feeling so thankful for my stash of clear umbrellas in my photography bin (I bring so much stuff to weddings that in addition to a bag and two Pelican cases I’ve started bringing a bin of “just in case” supplies this year – and while there are weddings where I never use a thing, there are other weddings where I am so grateful to have all of those extra items!). But luckily Lauren and Dan’s was not one of those weddings! When Kelsey and I were about fifteen minutes away, the rain started to clear, and by the time we arrived at Liberty Mountain Resort, it was just a drizzle! And thankfully it didn’t rain for the rest of the day! These two were so lucky! Lauren and Dan really wanted an outdoor ceremony, and thankfully the weather cooperated so they could have just that.
Lauren and Dan each got ready in separate rooms at Liberty Mountain Resort, and then Lauren and her bridal party took a shuttle up to Boulder Ridge, where their ceremony and reception were going to be held. There, Lauren and Dan shared a first look and then we got to take lots of gorgeous pictures of these two! Lauren was such a good sport about walking through the grass; with all of the rain we had, the grass was very wet and muddy – but she climbed slick hills and walked through muddy fields – all in heels! We also did portraits with the bridal party and the groomsmen. What a nice wedding party! These two have such sweet friends! Lauren made adorable signs for each of her bridesmaids that noted how they met – which made for such a cute picture.
Once guests began arriving, it was time for the ceremony, which was on the patio beside the Boulder Ridge Resort. It was so nice that these two were able to have their ceremony outdoors! After the ceremony, Lauren and Dan took some time with their wedding party and families to celebrate, which was so sweet! I love this idea of taking a little break to enjoy this exciting moment with the people you are closest to. After we finished up family portraits, these two headed inside for introductions – and the fun reception was under way!
Boulder Ridge was a stunning backdrop for Lauren and Dan’s wedding – inside and out. The inside is a true lodge – and it was so pretty! Wait until you see Lauren and Dan’s first dance pictures – the lodge with their beautiful blue uplighting combined with how cute these two are made for such gorgeous first dance pictures!! The dance floor during Lauren and Dan’s wedding was so much fun. Props from the photo booth made their way to the dance floor, and a game of limbo even broke out! It was such a fun reception, and it is clear that everyone had a great time! If you look closely at the photos, you may spot Valerie of Valerie Michelle photography and Richie; Lauren and Valerie have been friends for years! It was so fun seeing these two – and they had so much fun celebrating with Lauren and Dan J
Lauren and Dan, Kelsey and I loved being part of your day! You two are so sweet, and I have loved getting to know you both during the more than one year since your engagement session in Ellicott City! I am so happy for you two. Congratulations on your marriage!!
