Natalie + Alan, a Sunrise Engagement Session in Washington DC

Natalie and Alan will be getting married next spring, and two weeks ago, we met up for a beautiful sunrise engagement session in Washington DC at the Lincoln Memorial! These two are SO sweet; when we first met (via Skype!), I felt like I could have talked with these two for hours. They are both so kind and so clearly in love. The way Alan looks at Natalie is just so sweet :)

It was a very chilly morning, but these two kept each other warm throughout their session! Plus, they made each other laugh the entire morning (which made for the cutest pictures!). It is clear that Natalie and Alan adore each other!

I love that Natalie and Alan incorporated so many special details to their engagement session. The jacket that Alan wore for the first half of their session was actually the same jacket he wore on their first date! These two met at a DC burger spot for their first date together, and Alan remembered that he wore this jacket – so he wanted to incorporate it into their engagement session. So sweet! (And Natalie wore the most beautiful polka dot dress! I am obsessed with polka dots and I just LOVE her dress!). Natalie and Alan also included their love of travel. These two brought two adorable figurine that are special to them. Early on in their relationship, Alan traveled to Indonesian and he brought back Humphrey the Hippo as a gift for Natalie. So when Natalie went out of the country, she brought back Ella the Elephant for Alan! We got the cutest pictures with these adorable little “spirit animals”! Natalie and Alan also included cute “N” and “A” initial cups that Natalie’s sister gifted them from Anthropologie, and Natalie’s sister helped her choose her sweater – which was perfect for this cool, fall day!

Natalie lives within walking distance of the Lincoln Memorial, and after our session, these two went to brunch! What a perfect way to end an engagement session! Natalie and Alan, you two are so sweet and I can’t wait for your wedding!! Enjoy some favorites from your engagement gallery!
