Samantha and Jimmy were married on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at the beautiful Gibson Island Country Club on a lovely, warm spring day.
It was such an honor to be part of Samantha and Jimmy’s wedding, and I am so excited to share some of their GORGEOUS pictures!! Samantha and Jimmy actually met twenty years ago!! Jimmy was just 5 years old and Samantha was 9, and these families were close ever since. Samantha’s dad actually coached Jimmy in football all the way until he was 13, and Samantha’s mom was her cheer coach. (These two entered the wedding reception to “Cheerleader” by OMI – so perfect!). Jimmy grew up with Samantha’s brother, Ed, and these two were best friends and college roommates. Samantha and Jimmy were part of each others’ lives for many years, so it probably was not a surprise to anyone when Samantha and Jimmy started dating! Last summer, Jimmy proposed to Samantha on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland, and these two have been planning their beautiful wedding with the help of Samantha’s mom, Dana, ever since – and finally the big day was here!
Located along the beach in exclusive Gibson Island, the Gibson Island Country Club was the PERFECT venue for Samantha and Jimmy’s wedding. It truly felt like a vacation! As soon as you enter the private gates, the town feels like a beach town, with gentle waves bumping up against boats, and a view of the nearby Bay Bridge. And not only was the island stunning, but the Gibson Island Country Club is SPECTACULAR. Kelsey, Justin, and I were in complete awe of this incredible venue. The country club has so many beautiful details that I could never begin to name them all, but on top of being situated right on the water (with stunning views!), the club has an amazing sweeping staircase, transom windows and doorways, shiplap lined walls and ceilings (including a beautiful herringbone pattern on some ceilings), and an impressive curved wooden bar. I am pretty sure that this is the prettiest wedding venue I have ever seen. I want to be a guest at the Gibson Island Country Club; it is truly outstanding and their is attention to every single detail. And that was the pattern for the entire day, too; the country club made sure that everything was taken care of, and that Samantha and Jimmy’s wedding day ran so, so smoothly. Samantha and Jimmy also had so much help from their wonderful planner and friend, Ken Martin. Ken kept the day running so well, and was so great to work with!
Samantha began the day getting ready at the Gibson Island Country Club in their lovely second floor bridal suite with her bridal party, while Jimmy and his groomsmen got ready at Samantha and Jimmy’s home – which is the home that Samantha grew up in that they just recently purchased!! Jimmy arrived at the venue early for portraits with his groomsmen by Kelsey, and then he and his groomsmen relaxed while Samantha and her bridal party enjoyed some pictures outside. Samantha also shared the sweetest first look with her father – just wait until you see that!
And then it was time for their wedding ceremony! Samantha and Jimmy shared their vows along the shore of the Chesapeake Bay and underneath a beautiful wooden arbor that Jimmy built. Afterward, we had a group photo of all of the guests, and then it was time for pictures of Samantha and Jimmy!! These two are so easy-going, kind, and fun, and they kept each other giggling throughout their pictures. It was so sweet!! Just wait until you see their gorgeous pictures!! We had so much variety – and I love that we were able to get so many pictures with the water as a backdrop! A gentle fog rolled across the Chesapeake Bay all day, and it made the water look so beautiful!
And then it was time for their party!! Samantha and Jimmy shared a sweet first dance, and then Samantha’s father gave a special and moving speech. Samantha’s maid of honor and Jimmy’s best man shared special memories (and had everyone laughing!), before it was time for dinner – and then on to dancing! What a fun evening of dancing, too!! This group knows how to celebrate!!
Congratulations on your marriage, Samantha and Jimmy!! We are so happy for you two!! Enjoy some favorites from your spectacular wedding day, and I hope that you are having a wonderful time on your honeymoon in Jamaica!!

Then we headed outside for bridesmaid pictures – and the sun even came out from behind the clouds for some! I LOVE how Sam’s bridesmaids’ dresses match the sky and the water – and the coral and pink flowers pop so beautifully with the teal!
