Shayna + Brandon – Glen Burnie, MD Wedding

Shayna and I first spoke a year ago, and it is hard to believe how quickly time has gone by!  Shayna is a super busy woman; on top of planning a wedding (a full time job!) she runs her own business and is taking fashion courses at Stevenson!

Shayna and Brandon were married on June 9 at Michael’s 8th Avenue in Glen Burnie.  The ceremony was outdoors and we were so lucky to have beautiful weather!  Shayna and Brandon have been waiting for this day for six years, and everyone there was so happy for them.  Their wedding was an old Hollywood theme, which was perfect since Brandon is an actor (in the real Hollywood!) and Shayna will soon be moving to join Brandon in California.  The old Hollywood theme was so cute, and Shayna coordinated everything so it carried through throughout, from the movie sign and the feathered centerpieces to the adorable Hollywood stars cake and the popcorn bar (which I am now obsessed with!  I want a popcorn bar every day!).  The colors were black and red (seriously, they could not have been more Hollywood!) and everything was so cute.  Shayna and Brandon were so fun to work with, and their guests were so sweet.  I loved the bridal party too!  They were so sweet, funny, and seriously willing to try anything!  I had so much fun with them!Shayna kept telling me how beautiful the outdoor area for the ceremony was – and she was so right!  One of the things I love about outdoor weddings is that you don’t need much decor – especially in June!  Everything outside is beautiful already – and it certainly was.  And we were SO lucky because Shayna and Brandon’s wedding was rain-free and beautiful – in the middle of the great Maryland Monsoon of 2013!  It poured for daysleading up to Shayna and Brandon’s wedding, and then rained for two days after – but we were so lucky that their wedding day was warm and the skies were clear.

Shayna and Brandon were really overwhelmed with love and emotion, and it is clear that the two are so happy that this long-awaited day has finally arrived.  And now, the real story begins: the story of Mr. and Mrs. Hardesty!

This is the story of taking pictures of a comedian.  For every picture like this…
there are ten like this!  These guys were hilarious (and had so many fun ideas)!
And then the bride arrived and it was time for the first look!
We were originally going to do our first look in the garden, but many of the guests had already begun to arrive by the time the bride and groom were at the same location, and the first look should be a special, private moment between the bride and groom.  So we went to a small field nearby – and it was perfect!
After spending a few minutes together before the ceremony, Shayna and Brandon went to sign the Ketubah, then it was ceremony time!

I love this picture so much! Shayna, your shoes are adorable (oh, and notice how the glitter matches her theme?  She thought of everything!).
Congratulations Shayna and Brandon!!

*The vendors at Shayna and Brandon’s wedding were awesome!  Kenny and his assistant were so nice (I admit – even though I probably walked in front of their camera 15 times, they never once mentioned it!)  The DJ was so kind and easygoing and I felt very fortunate to work with him.  Plus, Shannon, the coordinator for Michael’s 8th Avenue was basically a genie – she was everywhere at once, coordinating everything and keeping everyone happy.  She was great!  The staff at Michael’s 8th Avenue were friendly and humorous.  I was so impressed with all of the vendors I met during Shayna and Brandon’s wedding; I would recommend them all.
