Rachel – Rustic Seaside Styled Maryland Wedding

Flowers
In late June, I organized and photographed a styled wedding shoot at a beautiful orchard in Howard County, Maryland.  I worked with many outstanding vendors, and I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know so many wonderful people.  Thank you so much to all of the vendors who helped to make this possible, including Metzler’s Scentsational Florals, Darling Diva Makeup Artistry, Cakes to the Max, Doie Lounge, Nettleton Hollow, Kelsey’s Kloset, and Beaucoup.

I am SO EXCITED to share my shoot with beautiful Rachel!!  I have known Rachel for ten years, but this was our first photo shoot together, and it was so fun to work with her!  She is just a great person to be around.  I feel so lucky to have worked with Rachel; she is such a professional and so much fun (and incredibly easy going).  The day we planned for the shoot was SO hot and humid, and it had been raining every afternoon leading up to the shoot, so I was so worried it would rain!  But we were so fortunate – the rain held off until late that night – but it was HOT.  Rachel is an incredible person for putting up with that heat in that heavy dress!  It was a true summer day – hot, humid, and NO wind.  But Rachel was so positive and upbeat during the entire shoot – and of course Rachel is STUNNING.  Rachel is a junior at the University of Maryland; she is majoring in biology with the intention to study medicine in graduate school.  Rachel is also a UMD cheerleader!  That positive energy carried us both through the day, and I had so much fun working with her!  Thank you to everyone who made this possible!  Enjoy this beautiful summery shoot!
Kate Jordan, the owner of Darling Diva Makeup Artistry, did Rachel’s makeup for the shoot.  Kate is so nice and friendly, and she truly is talented!  I love Rachel’s eye makeup!!
Sara Kirsner, the oh-so-sweet founder of Doie Lounge, sent me this beautiful and SO soft robe for our “getting ready” photos.  When I opened the packaging (the beautifully wrapped packaging, I should add), I could not believe how soft and silky this robe was.  Each robe is locally made from sustainable organic bamboo and silk, and they are so gorgeous.  Sara sent us the Cosette.  Wouldn’t these be incredible bridesmaid gifts?  They are so beautiful and so luxurious!!
Rachel, you are so beautiful!!
There are many more pictures of Rachel!  Below are some of the beautiful details of the wedding.

All of the STUNNING flowers were from Metzlers Scentsational Florals in Sykesville.  Susan was so sweet and great to work with, and the flowers are gorgeous.  All of the flowers in this post were from Metzlers Scentsational Florals – the two outstanding bouquets, this gorgeous centerpiece, and all of the table decor.
I was also so lucky to work with Amber from Cakes to the Max!  Amber created this beautiful cake just for our shoot.  Amber asked me for some ideas for the cake a few weeks ahead of time, and I sent her some ideas as well as photos of the decor for the shoot, and she created this amazing cake!!  I am in love with this cake – from the beautiful (and so unique) gold chevron stripes to the handcrafted gum paste flowers (isn’t she talented?).

These beautiful manzanita branches are from Nettleton Hollow.  Justin at Nettleton Hollow is such a nice guy – I was so impressed with how prompt, professional, and friendly he was!  Three of these amazing manzanita branches arrived at my house a week before the shoot, and I painted one red to look like coral, and left the other two in the natural sandblasted color.  I love how the red manzanita branches look like coral!  And the natural ones are incredible.  They are so beautiful and add so much to the decor.
Beaucoup provided the adorable little glass milk bottles.  I love how retro they are!  Beaucoup also sent the coral wine bottle stopper favors.  They are so cute and the perfect favor (that guests will really use!).
Can you tell I adore Nettleton Hollow’s manzanita branches?  I plan to buy some for my June 2014 wedding.  They are so pretty!
Kelsey Kleinhen, the owner of Kelsey’s Kloset, provided this beautiful teal gown, as well as the white gown, from her prom collection.  I am in love with this teal dress!

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who helped make this shoot possible!!  Thank you so much to Rachel, to all of the wonderful vendors, and to my mother and sister, who helped me carry and set up everything!
